BTF-21 Warrior of the Week: Senior Airman Sterling Brooks

ANDERSEN AIR FORCE BASE, Guam --  

The Bomber Task Force Warrior of the Week for May 2-8 is Senior Airman Sterling Brooks, 2nd Munitions Squadron cruise missile technician, from Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana.

The BTF Warrior of the Week is a program recognizing and spotlighting the Airmen of BTF-21 for their positive impact and commitment to the mission.

Senior Airman Brooks supports B-52 Stratofortress Bomber operations through maintaining air launch cruise missiles to include, transporting, inspecting, overhauling, and repairing the Air Force’s number one strategic asset. His favorite part of the job is the camaraderie within the flight. He believes it takes great communication and working together to complete missile maintenance tasks. He says his team is like a second family to him.

Brooks was recognized for his efforts during the BTF deployment. He is currently performing outside his Air Force Specialty Code and volunteered to be trained to build and deliver air munitions for the BTF deployment. He has successfully built and delivered 108 five-hundred pound munitions for aircrew proficiency training.
Ensuring four full aircrews maintain combat mission readiness while deployed. During his pre-inspection checks, Brooks identified a misaligned tail-kit. He quickly corrected the discrepancy and delivered the weapons on time.

Finally, Brooks finds ways to make a difference wherever he is located. During his off-duty time he volunteered three hour to help clean Tarague Beach on Andersen Air Force Base, Guam. His mission and team first attitude draws personnel to rally around him.

Brooks is from Greensboro, North Carolina and his hobbies include lifting weight and listening to music.

The BTF was deployed to the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command area of responsibility to meet Pacific Air Forces training objectives. PACAF in coordination with other components, allies, and partners, provides USINDOPACOM with continuous unrivaled air, space, and cyberspace capabilities to ensure regional stability and security.
