Gen. CQ Brown, Jr., Pacific Air Forces commander, engaged with Indo-Pacific regional allies and partners and U.S. Airmen during his visit to the Seoul International Aerospace and Defense Exhibition here Oct. 16.

Seoul ADEX 19 offers a venue to deepen the alliance with the Republic of Korea (ROK) and enhance regional security through expanded military-to-military cooperation with regional partners and allies.

This year marked a significant milestone with the observance of the ROK Air Force’s (ROKAF) 70th anniversary.

As part of his visit overall visit to Seoul, Brown met with Defense Minister Jeong Kyeong-doo Minister Nyamaa, Chairman of the ROK Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Hanki Park and ROKAF Chief of Staff Gen. Won In-choul.

Brown reaffirmed PACAF’s full and unwavering support to the U.S. 7th Air Force and the combined defense posture.

“We are positioned throughout the region to be able to compete, deter and win,” he said during a visit with U.S. Airmen supporting the event. “What we are doing here is important to the [United States] and [Republic of Korea] alliance.”

Seoul ADEX 2019 offers the U.S. and ROK the opportunity to showcase service members and equipment at the largest, most comprehensive event of its kind in Northeast Asia. This premier industry event attracts aviation and aerospace professionals, key defense personnel, aviation enthusiasts and the public alike.

This year, approximately 180 U.S. personnel are showcasing a cross-section of military aircraft through static displays and aerial demonstrations along with the U.S. Air Force Academy Wings of Blue Jump Team, who will be performing “blended jumps” with their ROKAF counterparts.

During his visit, Brown recognized two U.S. Airmen for their instrumental roles in setting up U.S. participation and reminded them of their significant role in the Indo-Pacific.

“What each of you do on a day-to-day basis and the sacrifices your families make, make it possible for us to defend what may be the most important place in the world,” Brown said.

Brown also participated in bilateral engagements to reaffirm PACAF’s full and unwavering support to maintaining peace and stability in the region, meeting with Royal Malaysian Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Dato ‘Sri Affendi, and Philippine Air Force Commanding General Lt. Gen. Rozonno Dosado Briguez.
