U.S. Air Force Col. Natalie Mock and her husband Christopher celebrated her promotion to colonel with much of her extended family by her side. Their families combined have around 150 years of military service. She admits that being an intelligence officer has been challenging for home life, but that she wouldn’t trade the experiences she and her family have had. “Intel used to be known as a cutthroat and competitive career field; everyone wanted to be the best,” she said. And as her career progressed, she realized she was one of the few remaining women who hadn’t opted to switch the Reserves or become a civilian, due to the demands of raising a family. “I have seen it evolve dramatically for the better, as it has become much more of a supportive culture and as I’ve progressed in my career, I‘ve had more mentorship and support for my family than ever before.” (Courtesy photo)
