8/7/2013 -  KUNSAN AIR BASE, Republic of Korea  -- United States Forces Korea updated the ration control program for service members and their families.

This new change, effective Aug. 2, affects all members of the Wolf Pack.

Those who shop at the Commissary will see their purchase limits increase while those who purchase beer will see their limits go down. All rations are based on the individual rate. If a member's family visits Kunsan Air Base, limits increase. However, when the family leaves, limits return to the individual ration limit.

Commissary shoppers will see their limits increase from $650 to $800 a month. For those with visiting families, they have added an additional $300 per family member. The previous ration limit provided a maximum of six family members with a limit of $2000, no matter how many more family members.

Beer limits, however, have decreased. The new limit for Exchange shoppers is now six cases a month, down from the previous eight. For every family member 21 and older, the sponsor is granted an additional two cases a month. A 24 pack of 12 oz bottles or cans equals one case.

There are no changes to liquor purchase limits. Liquor limits will remain at three units a month for individuals. One unit of liquor equals one fifth, one quart or one liter.

For more questions or concerns, please reference the updated USFK Regulation 60-1 or contact 8th Security Forces Ration Control Office.
