The 8th Fighter Wing welcomed four F-22 Raptors assigned to 19th and 199th Expeditionary Fighter Squadrons, Joint Base Pearl Harbor–Hickam, Hawaii, May 13. The F-22s, currently operating out of Kadena Air Base, Japan, arrived to Kunsan AB, to provide the opportunity for dissimilar training and test agile combat employment (ACE) capabilities within the Indo-Pacific region. ACE, force packaging aircraft and personnel in order to rapidly and successfully conduct operations in various strategic locations, remains a top training priority as it is crucial to meeting theater requirements.

The F-22s arrival also validates the Wolf Pack’s ability to “Accept Follow-on Forces;” Kunsan AB will house, facilitate maintenance, and project the 5th generation aircraft to Republic of Korea airspace over the course of the next week. Partnering with regional allies for training such as this, demonstrates Pacific Air Forces’ commitment to safeguarding a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
