Air Force celebrates Earth Day Published April 18, 2013 By 7th Air Force Public Affairs OSAN AIR BASE, Republic of Korea -- April 22, 2013, the Air Force will observe Earth Day, continuing with the service's vision and commitment to "Conserve Today - Secure To- morrow." The focus of this year's Air Force Earth Day campaign is the water resource management program, which includes water conservation, use of water-saving technologies in design and construction, storm and wastewater management, water quality and pollution prevention. The Air Force needs your help in smartly managing water resources and sustaining efforts to decrease overall consumption of natural resources in order to save money and reduce risk. Air Force officials emphasize there is always more that can be done, and it takes a concerted effort from all members of the Air Force team. All Airmen are urged to join in support of Earth Day 2013 and recommit to the Air Force's broader environmental efforts. Simple everyday actions such as taking shorter showers can make a difference. To capture and highlight the impact of individual efforts across the Air Force, we will continue to collect and promote personal posts on the "Blue Acts of Green" Facebook page, which was launched in 2012. Airmen and their families are encouraged to commit to perform an act of "green" at home or work to better conserve and manage our water resources and continue to benefit the environment. The site is available at www.facebook.com/blue- actsofgreen. As millions of people around the world observe Earth Day this year, Air Force leaders are challenging Airmen and their families to do their part to protect the natural environment.
