Key Resolve/Foal Eagle ‘10 Safety Message

1. This week our combined ROK and U.S. forces begin to execute their first major exercise of the year: Key Resolve/Foal Eagle (KR/FE) '10. I charge all of you to use this opportunity to improve ROK/U.S. combat readiness and joint/combined interoperability. Always remember that the safety of our service members and safeguarding of equipment are major training objectives for all of our operations.

2. Combined operations and training require cooperation and patience. Safety, however, is never compromised. Leaders must remain engaged throughout the preparation, deployment, execution, redeployment, and recovery phases of this training event to ensure safety is at the forefront of all our decisions.

3. Adverse weather conditions will continue to add risk. Fatigue and overconfidence can contribute to poor decisions and accidents involving our Service members and potentially Korean citizens. A single accident can undermine the training benefits you will receive during KR/FE '10. Remain vigilant and engaged.

4. Together we can accomplish our training objectives, improve our readiness, and strengthen our great Alliance with no safety-related incidents. Maintain situational awareness, good discipline, and plan to train safely.

5. We Go Together!
