Seventh Air Force Commander Lt. Gen. Jan-Marc Jouas took the opportunity to comment on how today's Airmen winners are following in the footsteps of those who have come before.

"A lot has changed over the last 60 years, but the one constant throughout has been great Airmen," Jouas said. "Their values of integrity, service, and excellence, reflected in the stories of valor, dedication, and sacrifice that we've heard here tonight...that's our legacy, that's our tradition of honor. We stand on their shoulders, and we will continue to do so for as long as it takes, until this peninsula is reunited and peace reigns here forever."
