SEOUL, South Korea - Republic of Korea President Park Geun-Hye met with U.S., ROK and United Nations Sending States military leaders during a visit to CP TANGO Aug. 22. Gen. James Thurman, commander, United Nations Command, Combined Forces Command and U.S. Forces Korea, briefs President Park on Ulchi Freedom Guardian, an annual computer-simulation command post exercise led by the ROK – US Combined Forces Command. (From left to right) Thurman, Park, ROK Gen. Kwon Oh-Sung, deputy commander, CFC, and U.S. Ambassador to the Korea Sung Kim, discuss the annual training exercise. UFG is designed to ensure readiness to defend the Republic of Korea and sustain the capabilities that strengthen the ROK-U.S. Alliance.
