NDI personnel ensure aircraft safety, enhance readiness

Airman 1st Class Hunter Trowbridge, 51st Maintenance Squadron Nondestructive Inspection (NDI) apprentice, dips an aircraft part in penetrant at Osan Air Base, Republic of Korea, Feb. 17, 2022. Penetrant is used to detect discontinuities such as cracks on parts made up of nonporous materials. This method of detection is made possible by the penetrant’s ability to enter into the surface of the material upon which the defect is found. (U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Airman Allison Payne)
