U.S. Air Force Lt. Gen. (Ret.) James D. Hughes, showcases his Republic of Korea Order of National Security Merit (Gugseon Medal) in Potomac Falls, Virginia, June 23, 2022. After retirement, Hughes and three colleagues established the Genesis Group to champion the need to recognize Purple Heart recipients.
