  • Pacific Air Forces Commander visits Osan warriors

    Gen. CQ Brown, Jr., Pacific Air Forces commander, visited the men and women of Osan Air Base, Oct. 17, here. In addition to Brown, Chief Master Sgt. Anthony Johnson, PACAF command chief, toured the installation as part of a three-day visit to the Peninsula, including bilateral engagements with Republic of Korea key defense and military leaders, a visit to the Seoul International Aerospace and Defense Exhibition 2019, and stops at Kunsan Air Base and Camp Humphreys to visit with Airmen and families. While gaining an in-depth exposure of the installation’s unique mission, PACAF leadership used the visit as an opportunity to explain Pacific Air Force’s priorities and how vital Team Osan is in contributing to the Indo-Pacific region’s security and stability.

  • Firefighters rescue, treat Airmen mid-air

    Instructors from Andersen Air Force Base, Guam’s 554th RED HORSE Squadron trained and tested 10 Pacific Air Forces firefighters from three bases on high-risk, elevated and confined space rescue tactics.
  • Air Force, Army medevacs 30 patients

    Chaos ensues on the flightline as 30 battered and bruised patients ail from injuries suffered during simulated wartime contingencies. Responsible for rapidly responding and stabilizing the situation, a special crew of U.S. Air Force and Army medical professionals rush to the scene with one objective: to safely care and transport Army soldiers onto a C-130J Super Hercules en route to a medical treatment facility at Yokoto Air Base. Utilizing Osan Air Base’s flightline for its patient staging capabilities, the 51st Medical Group and Fort Shafter, Hawaii’s 18th Medical Command jointly operated in Operation Ascending Eagle, Aug. 28, 2019, with their mission to enhance their rapid treatment of traumatized patients in a large casualty emergency.
  • Osan Airmen typhoon ready

    Disasters come in many forms, shapes and sizes – and one in particular is a large, wrecking ball of severe rainstorms with wind speeds that exceed 74 miles per hour. This adverse weather condition is a tropical cyclone, or typhoon, and annually between June and October, typhoon season makes its waves in the Western North Pacific. For the Osan Air Base and the surrounding Korean Peninsula, being prepared to overcome typhoons while ensuring safety can reduce fear, anxiety, and losses that accompany the natural phenomenon. Fortunately, a special team of response and recovery crisis managers and weather forecasters keep the installation’s personnel and assets equipped to survive a storm.
  • 51st MDG highlights versatility during AF SG visit

    U.S. Air Force Lt. Gen. Dorothy Hogg, Air Force Surgeon General, believes focusing on medical readiness and innovation will drive the Air Force Medical Service forward. During her visit to the 51st Medical Group at Osan Air Base, Sept. 24, Hogg received a firsthand look at the various capabilities of the primary care flight, dental clinic, pharmacy, flight medicine, emergency trauma bay, multi-service nursing unit, and other medical facilities.
  • 7th Air Force Celebrates Air Force 71st Birthday

    Seventh Air Force hosted a ball in celebration of the 71st Air Force Birthday at Osan Air Base, Republic of Korea, September 15, 2018. The 51st Fighter Wing, located at Osan, and the 8th Fighter Wing, located at Kunsan Air Base, ROK, as well as staff from 7th Air Force and multiple detachments all gathered for an evening of socializing, hors d'oeuvres, dancing, a traditional piano-burn, and more.
