The commander of U.S. Forces Korea visited here March 16 to see first-hand the Air Component Command's role in the Key Resolve/Foal Eagle 09 exercise.

Gen. Walter Sharp, who is also the United Nations Command and Combined Forces Command commander, also coined 16 servicemembers for their exceptional service.

"It feels good to know that somebody noticed we're getting the job done correctly," said Tech. Sgt. Dexter Morton, who is currently deployed here from the 15th Air Mobility Operation Squadron out of Travis Air Force Base, Calif. "It's me and a couple of other guys that work on the air refueling team. I'll take the coin for the team."

General Sharp said the entire ACC team is leading the charge in the defense of the Republic of Korea.

"Thank you for all your hard work," General Sharp said. "We have learned a lot of lessons in 'Part A' of this exercise, and I know we'll do the same in 'Part B.'"

Key Resolve/Foal Eagle is a routine training exercise that takes place every year at about the same time. It is not tied in any way to any political or real-world event. Like all other CFC exercises, it is designed to improve the command's ability to defend the ROK.
