7th Air Force, Air Force Operations Command hold Air Boss Conference
OSAN AIR BASE, Republic of Korea - Air Force Lt. Gen. Jan-Marc Jouas, 7th Air Force and Combined Forces Command Air Component Commander, and Republic of Korea Air Force Lt. Gen. Park, Jae Bok, Air Force Operations Command Commander, offer opening remarks at the start of the annual 7th Air Force Air Boss Conference on July 18, 2014. The conference brought together ROKAF wing commanders and U.S. air wing commanders from every military branch across the Pacific to receive briefings on the threat posed by north Korea and how the Korea Airpower Team would conduct an air campaign in defense of the Republic of Korea. Jouas' comments reflected the importance of individual and unit readiness to respond to an attack on the ROK, saying "What's crucial is that you walk away from today's briefings understanding your part in the plan. KTAT Conference wraps up on Osan
OSAN AIR BASE, Republic of Korea - Lt. Col. David Stringer, 7th Air Force A2 Deputy Director, gives closing comments on the last day of the Korean Tactics Analysis Team Conference and Working Group on Osan Air Base, Republic of Korea, June 13. The conference is held annually on the Korean peninsula to discuss and debate evolutionary changes and/or advancements in tactics over the previous year based on observations. More than 90 U.S., ROK and Australian personnel participated in this year's conference. The resulting KTAT report is approved by the 7th AF commander and published for users to reference. Col. Murchison takes command of 607th ASOG
OSAN AIR BASE, Republic of Korea - Col. Tracey Murchison receives his first salute from members of the 607th Air Support Operations Group during a change of command ceremony at the Osan Air Base Officers Club June 9, 2014. Murchison was previously the Director of Plans, Programs and Analyses for 7th Air Force. The 607th ASOG provides air and space power expertise, command and control of close air support and counterfire as well as operationally tailored weather support for U.S. Forces Korea and Army ground and aviation units on the Korean peninsula. It also warehouses war reserve material for "turn-the-key" operations in the event of a hostile attack or emergency. Three-day Korean culture, language program opens to Team Osan
Tech. Sgt. Paul Cassidy, 7th Air Force A3/5, tries his hand at Korean pottery with the help of Lee Yong Hyun during a trip to the Korean Folk Village as part of the 7th Air Force Head Start Program May 16, 2014. The Head Start Program, funded by the government of Gyeonggi-do and taught by Pyeongtaek University, is a three-day program designed to introduce U.S. servicemembers and their families to Korean culture. The program has been open to members of 8th Army for eight years, but only recently became available to members of 7th Air Force here at Osan. Three-day Korean culture, language program opens to Team Osan
Head Start students tour the Korean Folk Village with Pyeongtaek University students as part of their immersion into Korean history and culture May 16, 2014. The class is divided into three days. The first two days are spent in a classroom environment where students learn about Korean history, culture and language. The third day is a trip to cultural or historical site such as the Korean Folk Village or the DMZ. 607th MMS realigns under 607th ASOG
DAEGU AIR BASE, Republic of Korea - Members of the 607th Materiel Maintenance Squadron present arms during the squadron change of responsibility ceremony on Daegu Air Base, Republic of Korea, March 28, 2014. The 607th MMS consists of 90 Airmen and 350 civilians whose mission is to warehouse war reserve material for “turn-the-key” operations in the event of a hostile attack or emergency.
