Childhood dream becomes reality in Air Force
Tech. Sgt. Ioan Gaitan, 607th Materiel Maintenance Squadron, noncommissioned officer in charge of engineering support, inspects aggregate brought on site for an airfield project at Suwon Air Base, Republic of Korea. His job encompasses managing multi-million-dollar contracts and supporting over 600 tenant soldiers living and operating out of the facilities that the Air Force maintains at Suwon AB. Gaitan was recently selected for Officer Training School building on an exemplary enlisted career, one he couldn’t have imagined when nine years ago he was randomly selected for a diversity immigrant visa allowing him to leave his home country of Romania and live, study and work freely in the United States. CMSAF accepts Korean gift from the Korea-U.S. Alliance Friendship Society
OSAN AIR BASE, Republic of Korea--Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force Rodney J. McKinley accepts a Korean gift from a pro-American Korean group. The Korea-U.S. Alliance Friendship Society also recognized approximately 175 Airmen, Soldiers, Sailors, and Marines during a Korean naming ceremony for the Seventh Air Force Commander.
